i know i don't post here often... but i'm thinking i'm going to sell the e34 and get an e36.

Kinja'd!!!

I love my e34 for so many reasons, and as a driving machine is IMO superior to the e36 in a ton of ways.... but there is no aftermarket for it. I've spent days trying to source interior parts, and weeks trying trying to put together a custom coilover suspension..

while watching e36 full carbon fiber body panels go for literally half the price as a beat-up bumper cover off an e34. There are countless companies selling creative and affordable upgrades for the e36, whereas with an e34, you're paying twice as much for used stock parts bought from ebay.foreign.sketch.de.. While not necessarily more desirable , my car is a little less common than an e36. In my area, there are a plethora of e36s, and they all share the same "driftbroplastidipisamod" mentality....

Oh well. Anyone want a 1995 530i? Or better yet.... anyone want to talk me out of it?

I have always wanted a cheap BMW sedan to do my own "art car" take. And I encourage you to do something similar. Go absolutely apeshit with it. Get some panels with cra paint and a bit of rust. Sand them down to metal, prime, and them use plasti-dip if you're worried. But then get some parts, get some paint, and go nuts.

I personally want to do one where I basically take the car, paint it base white, then take small cups of black paint and splash it on various points on the car. Let the runs happen. Then lower it a bit, snag some nice silver BBS rims, and put in a light colored interior if I can swing it. If not, black works just fine too.

I like it. I'd like to get an e34 soon-ish, although I'm looking more for a 540 or M5. That said, where-about are you?

Ever since I bought my e39 I've been more and more attracted to the e34, that was always the overlooked 5er to me. On the note of the 530, I kind of want to swap one of those 3L v8s into my e30 and have a high revving v8, but the aftermarket makes me hesitate on that plan...

Check CL, I see parts e34s often

where are you located? And honestly if the E34 is in good shape mechanically... I'd just pick up some M bumpers and call it a day.

I almost picked up an E34 wagon, but went with an E39 wagon b/c the price was better, the parts were easier/cheaper to source. E34 wagons are unicorns :/
